Oak Bay Bicycles’ bike fitters use the most comprehensive fit systems available to all riders, regardless of experience level or brand of bike. They go beyond the basics and focus on individualized, scientifically proven systems on all aspects of a rider’s position.
A Bike Fit will typically last anywhere from 30 to 60mins depending on the individual. Our bike fitters will determine your current issues, and correct them with minor adjustments in seat height and position, stem position, bar width, and anything else to get you riding longer and comfortably.
To make an appointment please send an email to Joe at [email protected]. The rate is $85/hr.
Our fit service is very comprehensive and can take up to 2.5 hours.
ANY cyclist will benefit from a fit, it’s not only for “serious riders”. Having your bike fitted makes cycling more enjoyable and gives you the opportunity to sort out any of those aches and pains you usually find when riding a not so well fitted bike.
Make sure to wear comfortable clothing suitable for riding as you will be cycling (your bike) in one of our stationary bicycle trainers. Bring your cycling shoes and pedals if you have them.
A professional bike fit enables riders to maximize power, endurance, and comfort. During your personal session, we will assess your individual needs and systematically tailor your bike position and equipment to your body.
It is a 5 step process:
Our trained bike specialist will discuss your riding experience, goals and gain in-depth understanding of where you want to be on your bike. This will also involve an evaluation of your strength and flexibility.
Our bike fitter will measure your current levels of flexibility and the individual make-up of your body. The resulting data will provide an in-depth guide to best specify your bike position, customization and necessary equipment.
An on-site visual assessment of your riding position allows your bike fitter to determine (and adjust) the best and most efficient riding position for you.
Your bike position will be personalized as well as your choice of equipment. In the end, saddle selection and position, shoes, footbed, cleat position, and handlebar position are all optimized to your body.
At the conclusion of the process, our bike fit specialist will follow up to review your adaptation to the new position, answer questions, and provide guidance on how to get the most out of your ride.
