Nanaimo Build: Kona Operator

Nanaimo Build: Kona Operator

The 2012 Norco Brand Book

Norco is really pushing it right now with some solid bike designs and a willingness to take risks. They’ve also put out a great little magazine-style “Brand Book” for 2012 which we’re really enjoying. Check it out here, and see if you can recognize any local spots/trails in there!

Here’s a Salsa Vaya Ti built up as a winter road bike with disc brakes, fenders, and all the other stuff we need here in the Pacific Northwest. The knobbies may or may not come off.

Hi. Have purchased from OB before (Tarmac). Too aggressive geometry, sore back.

I use a bike for daily cardio (Vic-Sidney on Galloping Goose/Lochside Trail).

Am considering a relaxed road geometry bike w disc brakes like the Salsa Ti Vaya (XL) and having it built up with XT 10/2 drive train, shifters. DT Swiss 240 hubs, Mavic Pro rims (32 spoke). Avid hydraulic brakes. Carbon upright angled stem and flat/riser bar. 30mm Contintental Gator skin tires.

I understand that you are a Salsa dealer. Would like to discuss with someone knowledgable on your staff.

What size is the Vaya ti in the photo? I’m thinking about one for my latest touring bike, but I think the head tube may be taller than I like.

Hi Dennis, it’s a 54cm. Joe (the owner) is pretty good about test rides so if you are curious about sizing let us know and we’ll set something up!

What do you think?
