We’re a bike shop with locations in Victoria, Langford and Nanaimo, British Columbia. We carry a wide variety of bicycles, from family commuters and city bikes to high end mountain and road bikes, and have advanced, fast turnaround service shops. We carry several leading brands of bicycles, including Specialized, Norco, and Ridley, and are big proponents of 29ers for much of the riding on Vancouver Island. (Read more...)
Poduct Pick — Nanaimo: Easton EC90 Aero Carbon Clincher Wheels

Poduct Pick — Nanaimo: Easton EC90 Aero Carbon Clincher Wheels

For the most part we’re snobs for handbuilt custom wheels: triple butted spokes, standard eyeletted rims, and the most expensive hubs we can afford. However, Easton has been really impressing us with their carbon wheelsets lately. The EC90 Aero carbon clinchers are sensibly light, super aero, and have a great...

Recommended Reading 2012

We always like seeing what other people are checking out, so we thought it’d be good to put together a little list of some of our current favourite reading material. Most of us are fed by a pretty steady diet of all the regular cycling sites, like Pinkbike, NSMB, Cycling...

Team Oak Bay Bicycles – Lavan 2012

Oak Bay Bicycles and Lavan Apparel are excited to announce Team Oak Bay Bicycles – Lavan for 2012. To get things started right, we shot a little promo video of Jarrett Moore and Joe Esnouf shredding some local trails. The weather, bikes and cameras all came together and we had...
Ridley Noah Monochrome Dreams

Ridley Noah Monochrome Dreams

Another crazy nice Ridley Noah went out last week. It’s not as colourful as the last one, but it has a certain monochromatic badass thing going on. Done up with Campy Super Record, Zipp wheels/stem/bars, etc., it’s definitely dirty fast.

We put on the Nanaimo 2 Victoria Cycling Challenge on August 15th, which happened to be one of the most blisteringly hot days of the summer. In total we ended up having around 180 riders plus a full police escort riding from Nanaimo to Victoria over the Malahat and ending at Clover Point here in town.

We’re still tallying the total numbers, but we were able to bring in $25 000 – $30 000 for cancer research. Thanks so much to all the riders, volunteers, sponsors, and anyone else who donated their time and money for the event. You can see more info and the sponsor list on the Nanaimo2Victoria website.

See the video of the ride above (sorry if I missed you in there), and click through to see a bunch of photos. Both the photos and the video are on our Facebook page and I think you can tag yourself in there as well if you want.
