The Gent’s is ride is back and will depart from Oak Bay Bikes at 6:15pm – route will vary from week to week – but expect 40 – 60kms at a ‘conversational’ pace.
The ride is designed to be a social spin, riders should be able to maintain 24 – 27km/h average pace, some group riding experience is good,
but not mandatory. There is a no-drop policy with the occasional ‘sprint’, hill climb or short gravel/dirt section followed by a re-grouping
point. The rides are meant to showcase some of Victoria’s best roads – waterfront, deep forest, farmland and urban areas – hopefully you will
learn some new routes to keep your riding fresh!
The Fernwood Inn has once again graciously offered up some patio space for post ride beverages, snacks and meals, bring along a few dollars and enjoy the best chicken wings in town!
It is important that your Cycling BC Insurance is current – http://victoriawheelers.ca/join-club
Be sure to bring adequate front and rear lights to ensure a safe ride home.
Weekly routes will be posted on the Wheelers Forum – please check the ‘Ride Planning’ section – http://forum.victoriawheelers.ca/
The ride will not go if the roads are wet or on Stat holidays (with the exception of Easter Monday, which we will ride) please check the
Wheelers website, facebook or twitter for any last minute changes.
Last year was a lot of fun & we are really looking forward to seeing new and old faces back this year!
*** NOTE — The Ladies ride begins Monday April 17th @ 6pm ***
