This is the second installment of photos from Scott and Karl’s Italy tour. Scott’s been keeping us up to date and it looks like they’re having an amazing time. Words and captions by Scott Martin.

This is the start of the Mt Etna climb, up to 1900 meters. Awesome day of riding. A bit of cloud at the top but super scenic.

Many town perched on hilltops. Beautiful!

On top of another amazing climb then descended to sea level.

We rolled into the town of Cefalu for lunch.

When you’re in Italy mid ride you have wine. Or at least I do. Cefalu was a beautiful town, perfect finish to the Sicilian road tour.

The Beatification of John Paul II. Crazy scene. Words cannot describe.

The garbage was out of hand. Big clean up I’m sure.

Two fast machines.

This is the view from our hotel in Bracciano. There’s a big lake that once was a crater. Did the first stage on our tour from Rome to Florence. 102 kms for the day. Started at the Coliseum in Rome and rode along the river out of town into the rolling green hills. Beautiful country side with lots of wineries, sheep and cows. Rode some great pieces of single track linked by old roads and secondary roads. Using a GPS on the bike its almost impossible to miss a turn. Tomorrows stage is about 80kms. Gotta go, there’s a bottle of vino staring me in the face.

More sheep.

Rest stop, Vertex 29er.

Snack time: Simple yet so delicious.

Signing off with a mandatory Nutella shot. Until next time,
Scotty and the OBB crew in Tuscany
