We used BB7 road calipers in case he ever goes to drop bars, and we just set the levers up with cantilever pull instead of linear pull.

why did you use the BB7 roads with MTB brakes? Is the lever throw a problem?

Mine arrived a few days ago. A few rides on it and it’s an amazingly capable bike. Highly recommend putting it on your test bike list!
