Lots of high end 2012 product is coming through the doors at the moment. This particular S-Works Epic 29er is Simon Whitfield’s, but there’s plenty more fancy stuff that you can buy in stock. As for the bike, it’s sub 22 lbs with wagon wheels, and crazy stiff. Drool worthy.
If there is such thing as a perfect bike for the South Island, it’s likely the 2012 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Expert Carbon 29er. It also has the world’s longest model name. Its 130mm of travel is plenty for the more aggressive XC/AM out here, and its slightly relaxed geometry and light weight make it way...
We’re always impressed with Santa Cruz’s avoidance of slavery to model year, and there are no changes to their Tallboy for 2012. That being said, it’s great to see shiny new 2012 parts hanging off it. On top of that, it’s amazing when a bike shows up stock built almost exactly how we’d build a...
Shrew’s Stumpjumper EVO finally showed up and it looks HOT. Changes from stock are: 1×10 w/ a chainguide, Rockshox Reverb, Chromag Ranger stem, OSX bar, etc… Click through for lots more photos.
This is probably the perfect Vancouver Island trail bike. Jet 9 RDO frame, Fox 32 FLOAT 29 FIT RLC with Kashima, RP23 with Kashima, full XTR build, EA90 wheels, Reverb seat post, et cetera. With a lighter tubeless tire setup and no dropper post this thing could crack 24 lbs without too much trouble, but...
Norco has stepped up their all-mountain game in the last few years, and the 2012 Sight 1 (MSRP ~$5600) is continuing that trend as a capable, 140mm travel smasher that still lets you pedal up. Victoria purchasing manager Scotty Martin got on one this year and has a few rides under his belt with it....
It says something that when Harold decided to replace his Rip9 he replaced it with another Rip9. This one is black, with full XTR, and a Fox 34 Talas with Kashima. The Reverb dropper post and big old tires (2.4 Ardent in the front) are going to make this thing fun over the winter.
Two Simon Whitfield posts in a row! We didn’t put this thing together but it was in the shop getting cleaned up and it was too nice to not show off. 21.5 lbs with heavy pedals, and a few easy places to shave further weight, this thing is incredible.
Mike Colwill of the Fernwood Inn picked up a Santa Cruz Tallboy at the beginning of the season, but somehow I managed to forget to post it. Better late than never, this thing is still super hot. Am I the only one that loves painted carbon rather than a decorative crabon fribé weave?
